February 2011 Photography Competition

Hello Everyone!

The competition for February 2011 is beginning today!!

There are only two rules:

1. Each students is allowed to upload ONLY 1 photograph for this competition.
2. Judges will narrow the selection down to 2 photographs and the other students will vote for the winner.

COMPETITION THEME - BLUE

Submit 1 photograph that uses BLUE as its main visual element. for this competition you need to put thought into creating a blue composition. You can achieve this in camera with natural environments, studio lighting or through editing (or any combination of those things). Our main priority here is that you work with a consistent color palette that uses the color blue as its primary hue.

Don't forget to use creative elements such as: patterns, spectacle, color grading, wardrobe, make-up, texture etc. Or really anything you can think of.

The Winner
I'm not sure what the winner will receive yet. Maybe a gift card to amazon.com or some photography related thing. We'll see.

Hi,
Here is my submission. It was very difficult to take this photo given the high risk of direct eye contact with the light which can cause permanent damage however I guess thats what photography is all about...taking risks. Hope you like it.

Here is my photo for this month's competition. Am a bit new at this! I thought it was an interesting photo! I had fun taking it!

I chose this photo because not only is it "blue" in color, but the thought of 6 more weeks of winter also makes me feel "blue" inside as well... Come on Spring!!!!

P.S. I had a lot of issues with uploading. I had to downsize the resolution to 1/3 the original size.
