hi there guys, thank you for posting your pictures here... I've had fun looking at them and reading the comments. Especially love Michael's turtle picture and the pictures from Kabul... what a fun topic! What would be cool to know is the equipment used for these pictures and why... would help to learn something...
Anyway, I have had interesting year of photography and I plan to post few here... this is the first one taken in Masai village in Kenya. These are Masai warriors. As part of 'becoming a man' process, young boys will have to live in a bush for 3 years - sleep there, hunt... simply survive... ah, an kill a lion with their hands (they do carry a knife). The day of my visit, 3 of the warriors returned... not sure if for visit or are they done with a training proper... but I was happy to have a chance to

This was taken on IBO island in Mozambique - most bizarre place I have ever visited...

Ibo island is old Portuguese settlement that was abandoned in 1974 when all foreigners were given 24 hours to pack their bags for good. This place is now in ruins and looks like a movie set! There are few positive things happening - island celebrated arrival of electricity about 2 month ago, this is provided for 4 hours every evening!! Life expectancy on the island: 40 years. Average age: 14!!!

This is taken in Estonian bog. Everybody knows that bogs are very mysterious places and known to be the resting place of bad witches. I loved the reflection of the sky in the water, looked just like spreading poison... we decided to take a risk and go for a swim anyway, we survived so maybe the witch of this bog wasn't so bad after all

I am aware that this picture requires Photoshop as the visible sky is rather light in comparison to the water... just haven't got to that yet, but I will

This one is couple of years old but I adore it! IT was taken on Falkland islands where these two King Penguins had come to molt. I sat there for 20 minutes just admiring these magnificent birds that seem to be going through some sort of courting ritual... they kept dancing, gracefully moving their heads, while keeping their peaks together. I know that this is not very challenging nor very unique shot... but I love the simplicity of it! Just how beautiful is the world we live in?

somebody tell me to stop!!! LOL This was taken in Ushuaia, most southern city in the world, Patagonia, Argentina. I had just come back from most amazing experience in my life and felt so soooo sad that it was over. I saw this dog looking at me and his eyes said exactly what I felt the very moment... Brings back memories aaaah!
