Hi, I'd like to ask if you have any tips for avoiding the overexposed whites in pictures which have various sources and levels of lighting in the frame? As an example, if I take a photo of a dark room with a lamp in the corner, the light coming from the lamp gets overexposed whilst the rest of the room remains very dark..
Thanks!

You can try using an ND filter or just adjusting exposure accordingly.

Keep in mind that there are sometimes it's not possible with current technology to have the entire dynamic range exposed properly:

Thanks! I've been trying to play around with the exposure but it seems that there is always some overexposed white spots. I should try the ND filter.

I read from somewhere something about using a grey card. How would that work? Is that something that's commonly used?

Thanks for your help!

You can use a gray card if you really want to get your exposure accurate. People use them mostly in studios.

Hi,
I am trying to complete the photography course. I cannot find lesson 13 in the new forum. I need to know where to send my photo for publication. I have tried sending an email to the appropriate contact site, but so far, no response. I would like to complete the course. Can anyone help me, please?
