Beautiful photograph. You’ve done a wonderful job of making normal clouds look like rain clouds. Photography is about interpreting things not only as you see them but also as you feel them. It’s the difference between impressionist and expressionist art. I love them both, but I think I’m drawn towards expressionists art myself.

Your photograph has incorporated many photographic elements into it very well. For example, you have great color control, simplicity, great use of negative space, balance, and great use of strong lines and shapes.

One of the most impressive elements of your photograph is the strong color contrast between the yellow and blue. These two colors are complimentary colors (opposite of each other on the color wheel), and therefore they create a very dramatic impact on a photograph.

The only thing I would change is the balance and the line placement. The umbrella is interesting but your photograph calls for a more symmetrical look. You’re almost completely balanced in both objects and colors, yet the lines of the umbrella are slightly different at the top of the photograph and at the bottom of the photograph. You could have changed your positioning or slightly rotate the umbrella to create a more symmetrical look. I think this photograph really calls for that enhancement in order to complete it. Other than that, you’ve done a great job! Keep up the great work.
