Here is one with more color. Just in case black and whites are disqualified
Ok this fungus is especially prominent in the fall here in Ohio. I know, everyone was expecting a bunch of orange and yellow, right?
Well I missed last month, sorry about that. Here are my submissions this time. I don’t really like taking people pictures though. 🙂 The black and white was of my girlfriends daughter that hates getting her picture taken. Notice the look of anger. 🙂
Ok, didn’t have much time to work on this but here are a couple I pulled together. I messed around in Lightroom on these so it was an experiment. The circle theme may be a stretch for these but I’m “hinting” it. 🙂 BTW, great photos 100257!!August 10, 2011 at 6:10 pm in reply to: July 2011 Photography Competition Theme: Loving Life #20554
These are all awesome. I wasn’t active in July outside of a couple days. However, I have a great example of where we need to remember our camera at all times. I was at a 4th of July celebration where a 3 young kids were anxiously awaiting fireworks. Their faces were all painted and they were waving flags. They were laughing and just having a great time. The lighting was perfect (late day). I really missed a golden shot! Never again!July 1, 2011 at 6:58 pm in reply to: July 2011 Photography Competition Theme: Loving Life #20545
As always, I can’t win the contest but here is my entry!
Great shot as usual… 🙂
Good Job Michael! Great stuff.

I love the vibrancy of the purple and greens, but my favorite part is the reflection of the water drop in the center of the main flower.
I have to agree. This is nice.
Here is my submission (although I obviously cannot win):
Cool shot Duncan.
Ok everyone, I’m going out on a limb here and straying away from my typical flower shot. This is my first exploration with filters. This is a high/contrast blue filer on a pink rose. I actually can’t stand roses so this did the flower justice in my book. 🙂 I do like lots of flowers though, don’t hate on me!
Thanks! Yeah I need to fix those levels on that one. Thats what happened when I auto balanced the levels. I still have more to upload. My problem with people is I hate boring photos of smiles and staged looks. I like emotion and action. I need to start carrying my camera ALL the time so I can capture those moments. I think there is more I can do with how that slideshow works. Still learning/working out kinks. Thanks a bunch!
Thanks Duncan, always great advice! Yes, I can see which of the images are the best. I’m glad you liked the “teeth” one. My goal for those shots was to show how nature is reclaiming even the strongest of materials. That’s why I was leaving the vines and stuff in. However, you are right. Sometimes you just can “force” a shot just because it looks neat or says something to you. The weeds do really get in the way on that middle shot.
As to our buddy Jesus, well that’s about the only angle I could get because it was halfway up a building. I would have needed a helicopter or big ladder. 🙂 Although, maybe this gets back to your previous statement about not forcing a shot. I did want a “looking down” on you feel. That way it could have a message to christians and even non-christians (think about that one) 🙂
Anyway, you advice helps a lot and I will most certainly heed the message! Onward!
What the heck! I will bite! Don’t make fun of it! You said minimal.
Thanks a bunch. I plan to do more landscapes this weekend!
