I did not get any reply to my email. Is this just a fake publication or what?

Two weeks later I am still waiting for news from you… 馃槸

All right, you convinced me! I will make a site with photoshelter, but the most simple version, at least until it can be sustained itself with the money sold from pictures, and open an account at a photostock site. Any recommendations for this?

Well, my experience with internet is not that good, only few of my pictures had been used in blogs or magazines, but for non commercial use, so I never got any revenue because I set it like that.

What platform do you use? Also photoshelter? I would appreciate your help with this, because I definitely want to take this step. Do you think my pictures have potential to be sold?

Thank you for your review, it has been really helpful, however, it is very hard to concentrate my work so much…

I am not sure about the website, right now I don麓t have any on my own, because I don麓t see so much the benefit of it. Does it really help to sell one’s work?
Is not that I can麓t afford it, but it is a monthly expense that I don麓t really see what can be the particular benefit for me. Maybe you can help me with that a bit telling me your experience.

Thanks for the comments, I like subtle modifications to change sometimes the attractive of the picture, like in this case, I like the retro look and add vignette effects, but thats all. 馃榾
Anyway, once I get lightroom I would like to improve my technique and learn some advanced processing that will allow me to create new styles. But, I like to stick to the reality.

I am preparing my portfolio, it has been a hard assignment!

Good, I loo forward to it!!

Sure I will more to lightroom as soon as I get a new computer, my current one is old and barely handles the size of my pics, I hope to get a new one in some months. So far I am quite comfortable with Aperture.

I am glad to hear that you liked it also technically, which is my main problem… hehe. Well, I did some shots later, with sunset more advance, but light was to little to have any detail, and I didn麓t have tripod, so I had to go for this one, and the man on the boat also moved out of the scene, which made it less interesting. I did some shots from another location by the lake, but they are not that suitable for the assignment, perhaps I will upload them on Flickr.
I didn麓t notice the tree, but you are right, it would look better cropping it.

And I use Aperture for my pictures, which I always shoot in RAW =)

I agree with your point about the bottle, but my idea when I composed the scene was to make it the main object of the situation. I wanted to show the emptiness of the bed, and how some people fills that emptiness with alcohol, is not my case, but right now I am quite far from my gf and for some months, so this situation inspired me to compose the image.

I am glad that the outcome is satisfying, it was a bit challenging to create something with things at home. I reckon there is a problem with lighting, I don麓t have a tripod with me, having one, would have helped to create a better atmosphere and maybe use a different angle to create other feelings.

I thought the ketchup can represent blood coming from a suicidal tomato half… 馃榾

And yes, I know which kind of photography I like, it is travel and urban photography (of people and buildings, day and night).I also like photojournalism, actually I was a photographer at a university newspaper last year, but mainly I enjoy picturing what I see and try to transmit the feeling it gives me through the picture.
If you look at my flickr (http://www.flickr.com/neluco) you might find examples of this. It would be great to have some comments from you and see if you detect any evolution in my style in the last months.

I love pictures from Garcia Rodero, Capa, Cartier-Bresson, Bruce Davidson,… so that is the style I like, but I am open to many others.

I agree, it was a really awkward atmosphere in that place when I took that picture. It was in summer with really hot and strong wind blowing, the clothes were dancing in a courtyard I found on a walk and projecting it on that yellow wall. Making a good composition was almost impossible, so all together produced this confusing image.

I will have a try with lightroom. Is it a freeware? or do I have to pay for it? I am quite comfortable with Aperture, because it keeps things simple and I don麓t like so much the processing part. But I will give a try to lightroom.

See you in the next lesson.

Ok, thank you. Here is a hard light picture:

Now that you explain it, yes, i do understand. I was a bit confused when i did the shots. Also, it was some weeks after i read the theory of the lesson. I am not the best example of a good student… hehe. Can I upload an old pic with hard light? I am really busy these days and I want to continue with the course.

Here is one from the same series, (I coudlnt take some many pics last days) I think it is a hard light situation…
