Frenchman Eugène Atget was a realist who influenced generations of younger photographers. Later in his career Berenice Abbott championed Atget's work and carried on his legacy. The video above juxtaposes Atget's Paris with Abbott's perspective of New York. This film describes how they crossed paths during the Parisian avant-garde. This film explores their unlikely connection to the surrealists, and helps to showcase the aesthetic and personal bond the two photographers shared. There is even a rare archival interview with Abbott.
