Both of these photographs are visually appealing and the colors are few but powerful.
You’ve done well here but as always, there is room to do better!
Area of Interest:
One thing you can do to improve both of these photographs is to make the area of interest much larger. In both cases the leaf and the flower could be at least 2X bigger. Of course, this requires a serious Macro lens and you may not have the equipment for this now.
The point is if possible, fill the frame with whatever is most interesting. This is easier said than done in many cases. Sometimes it’s not even possible.
Focus:
When you look at these photographs at full size you’ll note they aren’t in perfect focus. This becomes increasingly important depending on the size of the prints you want to make. It has to do with something called circles of cofusion.

Whatever the case is, when shooting photos like this try to use a tripod and a shutter release cable if you have one. If not use the camera’s onboard timer function. That way you avoid camera shake when you click the shutter release….
Distracting elements:
In “photo 2” notice how there is a leaf blocking the, well, um other red leaf? Try to avoid having any distracting elements in your photos that take away from the main area of interest.
These are minor points. The main thing here is that you’ve used a simple color palette and created visually pleasing images.
