So you’ve gotten off to a great start here. To be fair I think it’s a bit of a cheat to shoot something that is so intgeresting to look at! You we’re supposed to choose something boring! 😉

You’ve gotten close to your subject and you have filled your frame. Both of which are good. If you can do anything to improve your images right away it’s just that, get close. Here is a little article to read about getting close to improve your photos.

From a technical perspective your image that is close up is a bit out of focus due to camera shake. This is a result of low light and a slow shutter speed. A faster shutter speed would have been better here but don’t worry too much about the technical stuff at this stage. You will learn the technical stuff as time goes on.

Just keep shooting and practicing. I’ve found that when people get bogged down too much with the details and technical side of photography in the early going they sort of lose interest.

Keep it up and good job here getting your first assignment in. All you have to do now is keep practicing and keep shooting. You are on the path!!!
