Now as I said this is really quite a lovely image on many levels.
You’ve absolutely nailed the goal of the assignment. So job well done here!
Here are just a few things that are great in this photograph.
The expression on your subject’s face is perfect. She is calm, relaxed, and her expression is a somewhat hopeful and intriguing! Excellent!
Not to mention she is in a lovely pose.
What’s more, the light in the photograph is beautiful and a it has quite a cinematic look to it. Usually this is a good sign because cinematographers spend a great deal of time lighting their scenes to make them just right.
The lines in the photograph draw your eye in to your model and to the art on the wall and then up and up of the frame.
Also on a higher level the photograph made me think on a more symbolic level. What does it mean to be pregnant? Is it an uphill battle like a staircase? Will there be unknown twists and turns.
I guess what I’m saying is that the photograph itself encapsulates the unknown of a pregnancy and the calm serenity of a mother.
What I’m trying to say is you’ve done very very well here.
Of course there is always room to improve. For instance on a fine art photograph like this you really need to make sure your focus is absolutely tack sharp. That way when you blow up your photograph to a large print it will still be crisp. Take a look at this image at 100 percent and you will see what I mean. Also take note of the grain/noise. One other minor suggestion for an image like this would be a tighter framing but this is just my subjective opinion…
Maybe something like this:
Overall you’ve done fantastically well here and I couldn’t be happier.
See you on the next assignment.
