Great work with this assignment. You were asked to organize and control the colors that made it within the 4 walls of your photograph and you’ve done just that! All of your photographs use 2-4 colors with one color always playing a more dominant role which ensures unbalanced color composition which often leads to more interesting compositions.

What’s striking about your images is that you’ve used predominantly dark tones with lighter tone highlights. If you were to look at your images on the tonal scale or put your image into Photoshop and then click on `levels`, you would see that your images are made up largely of mid tones (i.e. darker greens) and you’ve used lighter tone colors such as light yellow, light orange or white to pop out of your background and create a dramatic color punch. It’s especially noticeable in your last image where you have the widest tonal spectrum with your dark tones getting close to black around the edges of your photograph and then you also have the lightest tones in this image with your vibrant white flowers in your foreground. Great work. These images really stand out.

My main concern is with photographs entitled “gravestone” and `flower 1`. Both of these images suffer from minor amputation. Notice how the gravestone is just slightly clipped by the top frame of the photograph? I find this a little distracting.

Secondly, in “flower 1”, you’ve clipped the top part of the plant with the top wall of your photograph. It looks you just clipped the smallest part of it off, which leads to believe that this was an accidental amputation because you were paying too much attention to the center of your composition and you accidentally forgot to take a quick look around the edges before you took the photograph.

They are small issues, but important to consider nevertheless.

Overall, great work!
