    Digital Darkroom

    Duncan Rawlinson

    Another wonderful photograph.

It’s been enjoyable watching your progress as a photographer. For example compare this image with your assignment 3 images. Your latest image has a much better design sense to it. You’ve used beautiful soft lighting which moulds nicely around the child’s face. You’ve used the sheets behind the child’s head to provide color continuity and texture. You’ve used proper framing to highly ONLY the essential part of your story and lastly, this image is full of emotion and expression.

It’s also nice to see you experimenting with perspective. Not only are you quite close in this image, but you’ve also framed the image in a way that gives the position of your main object a slight diagonal twist. Rather than framing the shot traditionally where the right and left wall bracket the subject’s shoulders, you’ve slightly angled your perspective which has made the composition more dramatic and playful.

    Great work with this assignment!
