The photo of the cars I took with my old camera, but since then I have got a new camera and the photo of the dog is with that. I hope you like both photos.
February 15, 2013 at 5:48 pm #21078Duncan RawlinsonKeymasterPlease reshoot these.
Thank you.
February 15, 2013 at 5:48 pm #21079Duncan RawlinsonKeymasterI should be more specific.
You don’t have to reshoot the same photos but I want you to look at the assignment again and shoot two more photos.
Just post them here.
Thanks.
February 25, 2013 at 6:11 pm #21080Jack OliverParticipantHere are the new photos. The picture of the fish has a tiny bit of reflection, I tried to minimise it as much as possible but there is a small amount left. Enjoyed making the paper boats and putting them on the water. 😀
February 25, 2013 at 7:53 pm #21081Duncan RawlinsonKeymasterThe photo of the fish is terrible. I can’t see any fish or really make out anything at all. You can do better than this!
The shallow depth of field image of the boats certainly meets the criteria and it’s quite a lovely image.
Are you having trouble with the slow shutter speed motion aspect of this?
February 25, 2013 at 8:03 pm #21082Jack OliverParticipantYes I am having difficulty with the shutter speed, do you have any tips. I know how to change the shutter speed but not sure where to apply a slow shutter speed.
February 27, 2013 at 3:34 pm #21083Duncan RawlinsonKeymasterTake a good hard look at these diagrams.
Study these relationships very carefully and you will nail it!!!

February 27, 2013 at 6:22 pm #21085Duncan RawlinsonKeymasterYes you have the idea but you need to shoot something good with it!
Play around with it.
Experimentation is key for having fun with photography!!!!!
March 3, 2013 at 7:40 pm #21086Jack OliverParticipantI thought the effect of the flames was cool.
March 4, 2013 at 11:20 am #21087Duncan RawlinsonKeymasterInteresting effect yes!
As you can see here though with slow shutter speeds and bright light sources you quickly get into a situation where things get totally blown out.
I feel like you’ve understood this now and should move onto the next assignment.
Thanks!
March 5, 2013 at 5:28 pm #21088Jack OliverParticipantThanks for all the information and help on this assignment.
March 5, 2013 at 5:59 pm #21089Duncan RawlinsonKeymasterMy pleasure. Some things, like capturing motion and controlling light will take you a very long time to master!
As long as you are learning and having fun thats all that matters.
