    Depth of Field and Motion

    Hi Rissa,

    You’ve done well with your assignment. You’d be amazed how many people have trouble with this particular assignment!

    Here are a couple of notes on your images:

    1: I’m not a fan of centering items right in the middle of the frame but this might be what you wanted. Maybe moving this element just off center a little would work.

    2: Given this is a depth of field assignment you have to be careful about it. In this case your main element isn’t entirely in focus. No worries, just be careful!

    In your motion example I would have liked tighter framing.

    Also a cleaner wall behind the subject would have been nice too!

    Finally from a compositional standpoint I would have either liked to see more leaves (move over into the wind to the right) or be tighter in on the subject.

    Whatever the case, these are minor tweaks and you’ve done well on Lesson 6!

    Motion and depth of field are both critical tools for any good photographer. I hope you incorporate them into your work in the future.
