I used filter effect to intensify the red color.

    Duncan Rawlinson

Great photograph. This is your strongest assignment so far. Both artistically and technically you’ve managed to achieve quite a bit with this photograph.

For starters, the dog’s leash acts as a “leading line” helping to draw your audience’s attention into the photograph. Leading lines are often that easy to incorporate, yet they add such a nice touch to a photograph. However, you can’t force a leading line. It needs to be natural and believable. A dog leash is perfect for the context of this shot. What a creative idea!

The red filter is beautiful but what I love about it most is that it really helps you make this image almost monochromatic. The image deals predominantly with gradients of red. It’s subtle, so it’s believable, but it helps you organize your color palette and achieve a very harmonious tone.

Similarly, this is your cleanest composition yet. The 4 walls of your photograph are clear of any distractions or awkward amputations.

    Great work with this assignment!
