    Incredible assignment!

You’ve accomplished exactly what was asked of you for this assignment. In your first photograph you lack any sense of overall organization. The photograph is not terrible, but it lacks focus and is therefore easy to skip over. You have your cupboards in the shot, unsightly shadows, you’ve amputated objects with the 4 walls of your photograph, the lighting isn’t particularly flattering and the composition is very dull.

In your second photograph however, you’ve not only corrected all of these issues, but you’ve added artistic elements to help enhance the dramatic effect of the shot.

In this photograph you’ve change your balance from formal to informal, you’ve removed distracting background elements, you’ve simplified your color palette, you’ve improved your lighting and your composition is flawless.

You’ve also used reflection to help add weight to the objects in your photograph. You’re also close enough that you give your audience a sense of the textures in the shots. The berries look fresh and you can “feel” this just by looking at them. Your color organization is also spectacular. You’ve limited your colors to black, white with a splash of red.

Very well done. I look forward to seeing what you accomplish next.
