Here is my shot for this lesson. I had some free time, so I went through the lesson and did some shot at home. This is the nicest of all, I hope if shows that I understood the assignment.February 25, 2013 at 7:44 pm #21110Duncan RawlinsonKeymaster

Now this is exactly what the assignment called for. It’s a wide tonal range heavily slanted to the darks.
You’ve pretty much nailed the assignment and there are only a few minor notes.
One note would be that the bottle is almost too central to the frame. Meaning it’s almost to close to the middle for my liking.
Don’t forget one of the simplest ways to improve your photography is to add people!
You’ve clearly shown that you understood the assignment so job well done here!February 26, 2013 at 4:22 am #21111Santiago Santos ValleParticipant
I agree with your point about the bottle, but my idea when I composed the scene was to make it the main object of the situation. I wanted to show the emptiness of the bed, and how some people fills that emptiness with alcohol, is not my case, but right now I am quite far from my gf and for some months, so this situation inspired me to compose the image.February 26, 2013 at 4:00 pm #21112Duncan RawlinsonKeymaster
I like the image and what you’ve done.
If you want to highlight an image or focus the viewers eye you can always use shallow depth of field as one of your tools!
Nice job here.
