    I think this photo works really well. I took several shots of the dandelion… some with the broken one in the bottom right corner and some without it. I prefer it with the 2nd flower because it brings balance to the whole dandelion. It’s visually simple because of the the color is limited to greens with the white highlights, and it is balanced with the rule of thirds. The backdrop of the grass creates a nice texture that doesn’t distract from the flower.

    Everything I mentioned to you on the color assignment applies here.

    You need to improve your control over depth of field. The shallow depth of field is just to shallow. My eye wants to see more of the detail in the dandelion!!!

    I should note that yes, this is very simple image as well.

    HOWEVER! Do you really feel that the second dandelion adds to the simplicity of this image?

    I’m sure you could have photographed this in a way such that there was only one dandelion, and as such, a more simplified image!!! 😉
